(hd) On Monday (18.08.2025), a 58-year-old woman from Herford made an unusual discovery at around 3:00 pm. There was a large snake in the compost heap in her garden on Heimstättenweg in Herford. The police and a specially trained zoo employee were called in to take a closer look at the animal. It was in fact a 2.50 m long constrictor snake - at first glance a boa constrictor. It is currently unclear how the animal got into the garden. The snake has since been taken into species-appropriate custody. Anyone who can provide information on the origin of the animal or a possible owner is asked to contact the police on 05221 / 888-0.
